A district court judge on Tuesday placed a temporary restraining order on Burke County Board of Education member and local businessman Tim Buff.
Yeah, that same Tim Buff.
Buff's wife, Charlotte, sought the restraining order at the same time she filed for divorce.
That's D-I-V-O-R-C-E !
He has served on the school board since 2003 and is a past board chairman.

Perhpas you have quickly forgotten how overcrowded Freedom and EB High Schools were just a few short years ago? We needed two high schools when the planning process was happening. Who could have foreseen the economic meltdown and the lack of jobs in our area? The high schools are here now. We can't wave a magic wand and make them go away. Be PROgressive and think of solutions to help our school system. After all children and their education are our future.

I have heard interviews have been going on this past week for reposted postions. Who has applied for these positions?
I heard Sam Wilkinson has jeopardized some personel hearings that are coming up.
I just wish everyone would come to the realization that if class size is on the rise and we have less students in the county, all the teachers can not be hired back.

Sam Wilkinson has posted a lie on facebook. He knew last week about the principal changes and went to Draughn this past thursday, to tell the coaches who would be the principal before the Superintendent informed all principals of the move. Sam Wilkinson is a liar. You can not believe what Sam says.

Sam has posted more lies on facebook. He voted thursday night to approve Rexanna Lowman to central office. He knew about the principal changes thursday night,all of them. Sam should have had the decency to abstain on a vote about his indirect relative Brian Oliver going to central office. He voted on that move, and Rexanna going to central office. Sam knew about the bulk of the principal moves thursday night, and knew about Putnam as early as thursday morning. All this took place on June 10 2010. I hate that he lies deliberatley to those who trust him the most.

If there is truth to your post 11:50, my hope is that Tim Rooks is going after Carol Snow for what she has done. Can't imagine he would have any other reason. If so, Rooks, if you need any money for those documents, let us know. Thousands of Burke County citizens would be honored to help.
Going after people? That is just like Burke County. SACS CASI probably would frown on such behavior. I believe a lawsuit over the SACS problem would be very tricky. If you open the door on who wrote this,and who said that in what was supposed to be confidential,then opening the door may cause more harm than has already been done. The board needs to regroup and go at this thing with the true goal of being off the hook in November. Anything less, and in my opinion, ALL seven board members should be removed. Then the state can take over through November 2011.

SWAT/SOS brought SACS CASI in and used it as a Political Campaign to get the members on the board they wanted! Then when SWAT screws up, they want to point fingers and say they are perfect? If they were not going after certain individuals, and trying to micromanage Dr. Stellar then none of this would be going on. Buddy Armour going after Mr. Tony Cox was probably the icing on the cake for SACS. SACS is not happy that the New board would smile and put on a show when they were in town, and then revert to the same old tactics as before, when they left. So accuse who you want to of causing this but SACS has the documentation to back up their findings. Just as I am sure they must have had the facts to come into the county to start with. Tell your board members to be above reproach, I know it will be a new lifestyle for them.
There were 19 people who signed the June 7 2010 letter to SACS CASI, and the reason you don't know this is because the Chief Accreditation Officer and the General Counsel for AdvancED told Donna James to STOP SHARING INFORMATION with your SWAT buddies on the board. It only makes you look uninformed and unintelligent. Dr. Blalock and her staff are paid on a salaried basis. They receive a monthly salary whether they work 1 hour a day or 17. No extra money was spent on her time. (Furthermore, no time was taken from the business of educating children - she said herself putting in the search criteria for emails and hitting the print button was done AFTER her normal work day). Next, let's talk about Rick Sherrill's job of being the Public Records Officer. Again, salaried employee. Remember - that's the salaried position we don't even want or need - isn't that what you've been saying? We don't NEED an assoc super. He's not wanted here. He's retiring in a few days - do you think he's working on the curriculum of bcps? No, that's been delegated to Rexanna & Kim. Next, let's talk paper & ink. They charge $.20 per page. (Dr. Blalock could save the taxpayers some money and print on a black-and-white copier. by the way). 98% of the emails were just black ink, which cost $.09 at Staples. We're paying the schools $.20, so they're actually making a net increase of $.11 per page. Reviewing the emails for personnel and legal information - mostly reviewed by Dr. Stellar. Again, salaried employee who works more than 8 hours a day. He rarely needed to consult an attorney to make the call on whether or not something was to be redacted. This ain't rocket science, folks. If it's personnel or legal, then it's redacted. So tell me what I'm missing. Where are the "thousands" of dollars that were spent on the 4 email requests?

See, people who support SWAT are going to have to make a decision about them. In fact, SWAT members themselves are going to have to make a similar decision. Do we condone unethical behavior? What's "unethical" you might argue. Simple. It's defined by the new Ethics and Code of Conduct policies. When one or more of an ETHICS policy is breached, that would make the behavior unethical, right? How about the State Open Meetings Law. Are we in favor of board members conducting the business of the people in front of the people, or do we sanction a quorum of 4 board members continually deliberating via electronic means? Aren't you the very same people who were SO ticked off about the alleged meetings at Zackby's? Weren't you the same people mad as h*ll that the majority didn't share information with the minority, and it was not functioning as a full board? The decision folks in this county will be faced with is - is right right and wrong wrong, no matter who's doing it? Burke County has some real soul-searching to do, folks. If I were a SWAT supporter, I'd be texting and calling the folks I believed in to tell them - STOP BREAKING THE LAW. START ABIDING BY ADVANCED STANDARDS. START FOLLOWING YOUR OWN BOARD POLICIES THAT YOU JUST WROTE AND PASSED IN THE LAST 90 DAYS, AND BY ALL MEANS.... STOP BLABBING EVERY THING THAT POPS INTO YOUR MIND ON THE FLIPPIN' EMAIL SYSTEM. Because the people will find out what you've been thinking and saying about them, and you won't be able to explain that away no matter how much mud you sling at your accusers.

A vendor donated the color printer to the tech department several years ago along with free color toner. The county/taxpayers didn't pay any extra to have those emails printed on a color printer.
The word at breakfast this morning people do not blame SWAT, they're blaming CS for what happened! And they are so right to do so.

Snow isn't the only culprit. James Stamey has a request in for over 1200 pages of emails. I doubt he's ever read War and Peace, and he's going to read all that? I wonder who's financing him.
SWAT isn't perfect. But they are having to fight the battle for our students on multiple fronts: Buff, Sain and Hairfield keep trying to reclaim their old territory. Stellar has a reputation for doing what he wants without the board's knowledge or permission. His subordinates all know he speaks with a forked tongue and would contribute to a buy-out campaign. CS has her piety-and-purity agenda against "the F word", the Laffy Taffy Song, and "Hollywood" movies. Her verbal poison is easily recognizable on this thread. And there are a host of Wallbuilding Glen Beck supporters, disgruntled Coopers who did not get the coaching job they believed they were entitled to, and disgruntled CO people who came here to become what they never could.
Add in the stench of the Buff-Norman era that railroaded highly-respected, capable people like Andy Anderson, Scott Smith, Steve Demiter and (yes) Randall Brackett - not to mention a superintendent this county wanted to keep, and you have a battlefront George Patton would not want to engage.
But, for now, SWAT is what you have. Only history will judge as to whether they were able to do anything of value for the students. BTW, I believe SWAT is in this fight for our students. Who would submit themselves to such torture for any other reason? I don't care what Carol Snow or joetheplumber or josephabanks says. She can spin it any way she wants to, but my vote last November spoke volumes to those who did their best and are doing their best to destroy public education in this county. And my vote will say even more in 2011.

I am touched. Dont worry about the emails I asked for. After I saw some of them, I asked for more. I have not shown one of the emails to certain BCPS who I know were new board members big supporter's. They would not be happy that their job/position was being talked about in a negative capacity.

James, one thing that's making SWAT mad as h*ll is they know they have a double-agent in the CO. Some info is being leaked out, and they can't figure out who's doing it. They think they know who their friends are at the CO, but someone is working against them. When bad people are backed into a corner, what do they do? They come out swinging and it'll get ugly. Wonder what the TV stations are going to do with their copies of the SWAT emails? Probably bury them, unless things really ugly here... then it's a story. That's what happened last year. It is not the emails that is the problem, it is the threats and level of intimidation in those pieces of literature that is the problem. I mean come on Barbs and Susy, you know they screwed up. It would help them to be honest and forthcoming about everything they wrote and censor themselves. You dont accuse or threaten an employee for alleged wrongdoing and get away with it. It was not handled through proper channels and no matter how you spin it, it will be addressed!

The ethics policy has been broken by a majority of the current board. I did not believe it, then I met someone at 5:00PM to see some of these so called emails. As a SWAT supporter they are very troubling.

The tone and accusations from Mr.Armour were uncalled in any capacity,but maybe closed session. When you read the email, and the responses from Tony Cox and Mrs.Smith you will find out that the work the system paid $120,000 for in 2006 at EBMS was not corrected. Tony Cox tried not to repeat such a waste of taxpayer money when correcting mold issue's at LMS.

I have seen this email and the subsequent responses. Q: What was the subject? A: Allegations made to Armour as to the fact that the Feb. 2009 work on LMS was not subject to a competitive bid. This email was in reference to an allegation made to the Board chair who, in turn was seeking information and clarification. The board chair was exercising his fiduciary duty to find out why the competitive bidding process was not used for these controls. Q: To whom was the email addressed? A: Art Stellar and the entire school board - except Buff, who has no email. So, no ethics code was breeched because the question was directed to the super and copied to the board. This is also why no Open Meetings Law was broken. When you deliberately send a communication to the super and the board over a publicly-owned server, no one is trying to hide anything. The board chair was making an inquiry based on another received communication and seeking clarification.
The answer received from the super included a statement from the two employees involved outlining why competitive bids were not used and why an out-of-county company was sought out.
Our board chair obviously objected to not allowing local, very capable companies to have an opportunity to acquire $175K in BCPS business for LMS in 2009. And we all know who was in control of the board and finances in February 2009.
My point is this: accusing any board member of wrong-doing is fine. But you should tell the WHOLE story - not just the part that fits your need or political purpose.
Now, regarding the $120K that was supposedly wasted at EBMS in 2006, I beg to differ. Bids were requested and received. The controls were installed by the low bidder, but we apparently continued to have moisture issues at EBMS. What was the cause? Was it the controls, the dampers, the two-pipe system, or what? I'm not sure the board or the public were ever told.
Needless to say, not bidding the the 2009 LMS job raised several questions from the Board chair, and all of those questions were asked of the super with the Board kept in the loop the whole time. And I'm glad this issue was not explored in closed session because that WOULD have been a violation of the Open Meetings Law.
And while the administration did not see the need to bid the 2009LMS job, the email and the response does reveal that they had the good sense to bid the EBMS job. Imagine that.
I think all of the emails Stamey and joetheplumber have should be published so that half-way intelligent people can draw their own conclusions. It's obvious those two are not capable of doing so.
My thanks to the school board for asking those questions on our behalf. Nice to know that someone is looking out for our local businesses.

This stuff just blows my mind as a former teacher in BCPS. I read the email currently in question yesterday afternoon. What really strikes me is the fact Buddy was really rude to Mr.Tony Cox. In Mr.Cox's response he mentions the new board had never spoken to him since being installed in December.
I find this to be very troubling,and thought Swat would change the political spectrum of BCPS. Sadly, I see this is not the case.
I also must mention that Mrs.Thomas talks about employee positions in one of her emails. She talks about Mr. Billy Jo Caroway and how he makes a confortable salary.She also talks about a teacher that was at the Alternative School West. She did not mention these people's names,but did attack their positions.

My guess is that if the low bidders were local, then they got the work. Right? If they were not the low bidders, they were at least given the chance. Local businesses like Triangle were not even given that opportunity to bid the 2009 LMS job.

No, if you read the post the retired teacher explains to you dumbo, that no names were named, it was positions. If you know who has certain positions it is not hard to understand whom is being talked about. You are an idiot apparently.

Unless it is a personnel matter names of employee's do not have to be redacted. If you were to request a teachers emails, student names have to be redacted but not employee's unless there is a personnel matter at hand. Contact the NC School of Government to find out all you want to know.

" At Burke Alternative West, there is a faculty member who retired and turned around and was re-employed. The teacher now works on an annual contract. That teacher has more than one certification and is also a homebound teacher. His annual salary is excellent, and his wife has an excellent job. To be quite frank, the teacher has limited students,but the principal feels the need to keep him and plans to move him with her to the newly combined alternative schools. The bottom line is that person doesn't need the extra $70,000+ salary plus retirement income and that salary could pay teachers who still NEED to have jobs and the teacher could continue with homebound teaching.
I don't know how many situations like that paticular one exist, but there are probably quite a few, like the BATS director who has been retired for years and still has employment with BCPS and the Driver's Ed director who still continue working for the system. I see nothing improper with Mrs.Thomas's communication to Dr. Stellar. The quotation marks indicate to me that she was forwarding parts of an e-mail that had come to her from a concerned teacher. The sentiments included within the quotation marks are not Mrs.Thomas's. She was merely passing on the observations from a teacher who was worried about her employment, for which I am sure the teacher is grateful.

Is it ethical for Mr.Wilkinson to engage with Barbara Lingerfelt on facebook about Dr.Stellar's upcoming evaluation? He should recuse himself from writing an evaluation this year based upon this fact. Sam should have recused himself on voting for a position for Mr.Brian Oliver to help someone who alraedy had the job do nothing. Oliver's wife is indirectly related to Sam Wilkinson.

My name is Carol Snow; 507 Collett St; Morganton NC 28655; (828) 448-4680 cell. I think it’s past time for a “Come to Jesus” meeting. I’d like to address that last comment.
I paid attention to school politics last year only until about March, then gradually backed out of the political arena. I became more interested after the drama of the election was over and the new Superintendent was hired.
In the December-January timeframe, I came up with three different names & email addresses and began asking for financial data and test score data from the Central Office. I also asked for information relating to board politics. Under one of the assumed names, I submitted two letters to the MNH, and Mr. Welker printed both. Only one is online.
Why? I don’t mean this to be an excuse; it’s just the reason. It’s not very wise for a person in the business world to be involved in school politics (we were boycotted last year, after all), and being on the wrong side of any political issue could also be detrimental to kids who are in the school system. Over time, I found that both of these fears were baseless.
We actually showed a net gain in membership last year during the “boycott”, and our kids have never ever been retaliated against. They’re pretty good kids, and well-liked by their teachers for the most part, so I know their teachers would be advocates for them at school if anything was ever said or done.
I should also say the fictitious personas didn’t always use the most Christian-like language or demeanor. The fake people didn’t cuss like sailors, but “they” wouldn’t exactly be considered Godly, either. It wasn’t really difficult for me to put on those arrogant personas with potty-mouths because I did live a less-than-stellar existence until I was about 25. But that’s another story.
Those fake emails & names went away a few months ago. Using those personas was stupid, deceitful, unethical, wrong… sinful. I don’t think it was illegal, but if it was, then the consequences will come.
I’m sorry to those of you who know me if I’ve disappointed or disgusted you. Admit, Confess, Turn away, Move forward… contrition. Thank God for forgiveness.

That's the one in which you accused someone in the technology department of obtaining and releasing Mr. Sain's SACS-CASI letter. You all but named who YOU suspected was guilty. This accusation was TOTALLY UNFOUNDED and ABSOLUTELY UNTRUE. You weren't even woman enough to say what you had to say under your own persona. Perhaps you should consider writing an apology for your haphazard "finger-pointing" and getting that transgression off your chest as well.

As a private citizen who's never been anywhere near the IT dept at BCPS, I don't know who has access to emails and who doesn't. I have no idea about the security of that email system. I've always had great respect for Dr. Blalock and didn't ever think it was her, so if you read that into the letter, you assumed incorrectly. I "heard" after the letter went to print and was talked about, the suspicion is that it was someone who had access to Mr. Sain's computer. But, that's just hearsay. I have no idea.
You are correct - that would be just hearsay. Definitely not worthy of a letter to the editor in which you directed any sort of blame toward ANYONE in the technology department. And no, I was not insinuating that you were blaming Dr. Blalock. I think you and I both know who you were referring to in your letter. Again, your allegations, insinuations, whatever else you want to call them are UNFOUNDED.

You admit you are worried about being sued in civil court, as well you should be. Perhaps you should send a formal and pubic apology to all those you have lied about, threatened, belittled, and defamed in emails, blogs, and letters to the editor? You should also contact SACS and explain all this to them, too, because you are the cause of this county not getting back accreditation.
Your 7:39 confession is only the start of what you need to do to show your face in this community again and have any hope in avoiding a costly lawsuit.

You and your crew need to ask Doug Smith why the audit was late. You need to ask him why Buff and Norman would not sign the contract unless MORE work than was described in the contract was performed - for no more money. Buff did not sign the contract until well into September - at least two months too late to have the results to the LGC no later than November 1.
If you recall, the board had to cough up another $6K to cover all the extra work Buff and Norman required.
Those two have no concept of how audits are actually performed. It was those two who caused the audit to be late. I know it's hard to accept that your heroes are incompetent, but they are. They really and truly are. And if YOU cannot do your own damned research to discover this, then you have no business in an elected position.
Now, don't everyone else follow suit and have 'Come to Jesus Meetings', for crying out loud. Save it for when you have your yearly tent meetings. I still want to know the total dollar amount that the damn recent email request cost us!

If you will pay attention you will see that I use my name when posting. Since you chose to go on the attack I will respond as best I know how.
The audit firm sent a letter and email to board attorney Jon Jones that was three pages long. It described why the audit was late. At no point and at any time did Mr.Smith, Mr.Buff or Mr.Miller say that the board delayed in this matter. It said MANAGEMENT which would mean the Superintendent and his office. Management could not get things to them when they should have. All sitting board members at the time, should have a copy of this transmission except for David Barnard because he resigned. When you look at that transmission, and what the audit team eventually found, you realize David was not good at overseeing the finance department. You also will want to study the Evergreen report and find out how bad our bookeeping was. I remember Mr.Brackett decided to retire early when the audit was taking place.
So, Stamey, how do you explain Buff not signing the contract until late September? How do you explain the additional $6000 of my tax money that Jon Jones said your cousin and her boyfriend had to pay in order to get the audit released? The scope of work was being defined as the audit progressed. Check the audio. The LGC never said the Superintendent was ever responsible. The LGC named the board.
And how do you explain the fact that once Tim and Tracy were out of the picture, the last audit was completed on-time? You mentioned the $ 1 million that was moved without the board's knowledge. Why didn't your bud Hairfield and your cousin know about it? Or did they? He was the finance chair. She was board chair.
Stamey, it's easy to point the finger at the last person your ilk pushed out the door. Easy and cowardly. Your sorry friends never took responsibility for anything. But the electorate is slowly and deliberately taking care of that, aren't we?
And finally, it looks like your partner Snow felt compelled to reveal herself - her true self. It's only a matter of time for you as well. There isn't much there that we all haven't seen already, but you will soon fold as well. You have no support and zero credibility. And once the people find out where you work, if you don't desist, another boycott could take place.
You need to go exercise your free speech where it will be appreciated - some place like Hades - and let this county heal. You are just as culpable as Snow and any of the rest of the "19" who signed the letter to SACS. The people who worked hard to restore accreditation will soon know who all those people are. I have to base what I say on the document I have. You are correct that the LGC blamed the Board and that is where the responsibility remains no matter how poorly their employee's perform their duties.
If you have read the document I mentioned can you please tell me why the LGC had told the board in July 2007 to abort a financial practice, and as of the late audit they had not corrected the books?

Ok, 9:09pm, I remember now. That letter was written in January, so I had forgotten what you were talking about. "I would be especially wary of the confidentiality of my e-mails, knowing there's at least one employee in the BCPS technology department who..." Yes, I did have someone in mind so I do owe this person an apology.
This brings up an interesting observation relating to the rest of the statement made in the letter to the editor. It is true that this teenager, like many others (including myself at times), use hateful/caustic words against people with whom we disagree. Furthermore, most of the time hearsay (gossip) is considered to be the truth. Where do the teenagers get their viewpoints? Mostly from their parents, as well as other family member, their peers, teachers, media.
To address one issue -- I spent time around Tim and Tracy back in 2007 (haven't seen or talked with them much at all in the past 15 months), but I never saw anything between them that would indicate to me they were "romantically involved". If I had, I would have dropped them like a hot potato. The problem was the appearance of impropriety, and as I told them at least once, I thought they should have distanced themselves from one another. It just wasn't a wise idea for them to work together because it gave rise to too many rumors, but for whatever reason, that didn’t change.
I've lived in four towns/cities in Nebraska, Oklahoma City, Euless and Ft Worth TX, and I can honestly say the gossip - among church-going folks, no less - in this county is worse than in any place I've ever been. And, yes, I've occasionally taken part in it.
The reason I bring it up is this, (and this will only make sense to the believers). Gossip & Rumor – it's probably a spiritual stronghold right here that needs to be broken. It’s destructive, and we know the smallest part of the body (the tongue) can wreak the most havoc.
It wouldn’t hurt if we all did a better job of keeping our tongues in check, especially the Christians. The nonbelievers aren’t convicted by anything at all anyway, but at least the believers, yes, including me, should get our acts together in this regard. That’s all I have to say about that.
I believe that was a threat used by mr. Stamey in his last post. Does accreditation depend on him? Thank you for the confession, ms. Snow. It will come in very handy.

Well, no, in fact I'm not really worried about that at all. Other than using the fake email/names, I didn't lie or fabricate anything. You'll have to come up with examples of any "lies, threats & defamation" that you’re accusing me of (anonymously, I might add) in order for that to be valid. You can’t credibly accuse people of lying, threatening and defaming without proof.
As for contacting SACS about the fake names, I'll do that, but it's completely unnecessary. You see, someone from The News Herald told SACS on March 10, 2010 via email that they determined that those personas “all use the same computer to send their messages to Media General’s e-mail server” and that “text analysis confirms they’re all one in the same person.” The statement about the e-mail server was false because more than one computer was used, but I believe SACS did disregard anything they may have received from the fake email accounts. Frankly, I don’t remember if those fake accounts were used to send them anything other than questions anyway. The email accounts have been disabled since March.
In a new twist to this story, the emails from the Central Office show that The News Herald was involved with persuading SACS to disregard information, and the reason I know this is because a board member commented on it via email to the rest of the SWAT team. This board member said she “was working on putting this in writing, as {someone} suggested when I spoke with her on Monday, but this is better!”
If a stakeholder were to now ask the Central Office for all emails going from/to the NC State SACS Director, you may find even more corruption in the process. I don't believe the State Director was supposed to be involved with feeding information to the board, and vice versa. This doesn’t appear to be an independent study or review, so the entire process looks to be fraudulent.

B. It was not part of the public school curriculum.

It seems to me that AdvancED/SACS-CASI has some explaining to do regarding the communication between some of our school board members and the NC State Director's office. I don't see how that would affect Burke County's efforts to regain accreditation. Look at the report - we did not pass on 6 sections. Those sections have nothing to do with the alleged communication between Dr. Donna James and SWAT. If it's proven that there was inappropriate communication between James and SWAT, that reflects on SACS' credibility, not ours.

Good luck retrieving them. I'm not an elected official, nor am I a BCPS employee, so my emails are not governed by the Open Records Law. No private citizen's emails are accessible to anyone else. If you do gain access to them, you've received them illegally.
As to anything 'incriminating', passing along facts don't incriminate, but lies do.

Based on the accusations in that email, it's quite a stretch to say Armour was seeking information and clarification. He also accused Tony Cox of managing his employees by fear and intimidation. I think it's about time the original email and all the correspondence about it is printed here for the public's inspection. Let them make their own determinations. Armour, Stroup and Thomas all deliberated via email on the issue.
We should also have a conversation about how a board chair should act on unsubstantiated allegations. I believe Board-Super relations are covered in the policy manual, so perhaps a review of that would be in order. Should one contact the board attorney right off the bat? Did we, the taxpayers, get to pay for Mr. Aycock to read and review Mr. Armour's allegation emails?
Really, the bottom line is who the allegation was made against. If you already have a hatred for the administration, you jump in feet first when given an allegation.
Who made the allegation in the first placed? Mr. Armour knows. Was it someone who wants Mr. Cox's job on July 1st? Was it someone who used to be part of this department and is now a disgruntled employee, attempting to impugn Mr. Cox's integrity.

Board policy requires board members to report any and all allegations made to them to the Superintendent so he can investigate. If the chair believes there is an opportunity for legal exposure because people were not allowed to bid, he has every right to involve the board attorney.

This is 'Secret Agent Man' stuff. I received a copy of the email stream 2nd or 3rd hand from someone who got a copy of it from a leak at bcps. The Information Officer was not involved as far as I know (but since I dont' know who the school's Deep Throat really is, I guess he could be). The top part was cut off, so it can't be determined where the emails originated.

"Subpoenaed" does differ from Rooks' request to get emails of private citizens' off the bpcs email database with a Public Records Request. As best I understand it, Mr. Rooks (or someone) will have to file a civil lawsuit against citizens in order to get those emails.

If he acted in the most professional way possible in following up on an unfounded allegation (vicious rumor) made against a respected administration who has done nothing but clean up the mess left us by Randall Brackett, then why would Buddy's supporters even want to scream "Attorney Client Privilege"! We know you would STILL back them. Those of you who are their political base are a lost cause; that is fully recognizable.
HOWEVER, there are still some people in this Burke County who care about elected officials abiding by the Open Meetings Law and treating excellent administrators with the respect they deserve. They voted for an end to the corruption, but what they don't realize YET is they just voted in a more corrupt board than we've ever had in the past.
The News Herald is involved, the State Director of SACS is involved, and it's all IN PRINT, thanks to Susan Stroup. Thank you for using the BCPS email system to detail exactly what's been going on.
