Very good in my opinion,this was for the students and community.Not David Burleson, or the board and it should be left that way.Burke County can be proud of this school in years to come.School needs to start with a bang tomorrow,and we need to block out who is on the board and who is in power in administration.Our Board has its problems as well as administration,but the children's future in education always relies on the teachers and I am behind the teachers.
Ok, who gave the best speech? I'm sure Mr. Buff had to speak. What about Bernard, Sain, Hairfield and Norman. Did they speak? I hope they kept their mouths shut. How long did it last?
Best speach.... had to be that of either Sam or Buddy. The others were either useless or incoherent. Bernard made a comment about being a teacher previously..but his, Robs and Karens were really short and pointless... Karen seems to think that the Crow Hill section of Valdese is a community in itself and she really should learn how to dress for these occassions...AND THEN CAME TRACY.... OMG... rambling on with no real direction and basically after everyone else commenting on this being a community school... she points out that it is a COUNTY school... I found her speach hard to follow with a lot of stamering and bouncing around several different topics with no real thought going on in her head... and she had something of it written down... but she took the microphone our of the holder... refused to stand behind the lecturen and rambled like an idiot... The dedication was good overall... but the fab five... did not come off fab... more like stumbling idiots... Buddy's was a bit long... but he made points and observations and actually seemed to care... Sam was good, and seemed heartfelt.
To 3:38, good point, and the children of Burke County will be fine as long as the board doesn’t try to micromanage what principals and teachers do in the classroom and if we can keep from losing more good teachers to surrounding counties.

For your info Patton High's faculty also got plaques as charter members.I was there and Shanda kept repeating that Ray Martinat had donated the frames for their plaques.It was an election year.I guess he did not donate these to draughn since he is not on the board anymore and did not win the election. Some of you stupid people believe this board does everything different from the old one.If you went to the old board meetings and watched how they did procedure and such you would see some things are done exactly like the old board.It shows how smart some of the individuals who blog really are.As for the board getting charter membership no they did not at Patton but that was draughn administrations idea,not the boards.I did hear yesterday from a highly elected official that the best things this board has done is hire Rick Sherrill and Jon Jones,and they needed to keep hammering Randall til he is gone.This board is not perfect but on the right track.

No, you don't have to stay on topic. It makes it easy to figure out if you have something useful to say. But it is just difficult to have a conversation with someone who continues to jump from one topic to another, dodging things that they do not want to hear, and not able to finish a thought. He finally admits he does not know what is going on.The truth shall set him free.The problem is Rexanna Lowman has been preoccupied with who is on the board to do her job.David needs to move her back to an elementary school.He would not because the retaliation from Rexanna would cause David to leave town.Aka she would tell what really happend in the Billy Anderson debacle and their are some people who would sail down river fast. She also had on a jacket that showed every fat fold-I counted 6, then she took the mic and was walking around the podium, revealing that she had camel toe. But it is just difficult to have a conversation with someone who continues to jump from one topic to another, dodging things that they do not want to hear, and not able to finish a thought. And then replying like a child with "hee hee har har". It just proves the point that there are board members who behave unprofessionally, childishly and make the entire county look bad. The voters made some major mistakes, hopefully they learned a leason.
As for why the News paper does anything ... who cares. They are not there to report everything that this board does. They dont report when you go to the bathroom, and I am glad for it. They report news, and I did not think it was the reason for this blog.
As for who looked good on stage Sunday. Buddy did look comfortable and did a decent job, I did think he took a little long. But that was better than what was said by the lesser of the Fab 5 and at least it made sense. Which was a lot more than what Tracy said. Never even understood that crap. Kinda like some of the meaningless blogs on here.
David Burleson was quoted today in the News Herald as saying "he did not know what was going on there".The reference was to East Burke High's drop in SAT scores.
He finally admits he does not know what is going on.The truth shall set him free.The problem is Rexanna Lowman has been preoccupied with who is on the board to do her job.David needs to move her back to an elementary school.He would not because the retaliation from Rexanna would cause David to leave town.Aka she would tell what really happend in the Billy Anderson debacle and their are some people who would sail down river fast. As for having to stay on topic maybe if she would at East Burke the children would not be suffering in their test scores.
Pat Draughn needs to chear up,he looked sad like Buddy sunday at something that was in honor of his father.I have heard he is documenting everything Mike Kenney does so they will be able to move him at the end of the year.Mike watch your back you are among wolves!

Then why did the new board hire a personnel director when Hairfield needs a job? Why did they hire a technology director when Barnard is "semi-retired". The store is only open three days a week. Tracy, a self-proclaimed EC expert could have taken Joel's job. Think of how much money this new majority could have saved!
Why hire an attorney? This new majority isn't ever going to challenge the county or fight for our kids.

Yeah, they will challenge the county when the guard changes in the county commission.It is on the horizon.
Tracy has failed at home education. She also failed at being an assistant teacher, helper at Nathan's, helper at Curve's.
Things have not went her way at all the different churches she has attended.
Tracy has failed as a wife, daughter, mother, sister, the list goes on and on.
Tracy received no attention as a child, this has caused her to crave it at unhealthy levels as an adult.
Tracy must be the center of the attention or she get bored and moves on to her next thing.
Tracy is bi-polar. This is why she acts the way she does.
Tracy left her family and moved into the doublewide with her mama. When she did this she was living out of her district. She knew this fact but looked for ways to cover it up.
Her long time husband and 3 sons have moved on and have adjusted well in her absense.
Soon her run on the school board will be over. This is when she will reach a point that will force her to address some personal issues.
Tim will not leave Charlotte for Tracy.
Tracy has no formal education.

Tracey had the worst speech, it was as if her xanax had kicked in. She also had on a jacket that showed every fat fold-I counted 6, then she took the mic and was walking around the podium, revealing that she had camel toe. (If you don't know what that is, look it up). She didn't look sad, she just sounded stupid and was very poorly dressed.
