Remember if Rob does it again you can call him and tell him to knock it off.

"ANYONE, including school system personnel, may contact me via my phone at 437-6418"

Scott we didnt know you went to the bahamas, we heard otherwise.Glad to have you back.Your new boss Rick Sherrill looks forward to working with you I am sure. I know people like you,Buddy Armour, many good ole boy supporters have been sick since Nov, but all sickness is not death! You people will come around eventually or you will head for the hills. Its your decision.Have a nice day!

Click on Ray's name, he is a banker from the Bahamas.

Plus, Scott is resigning. Rick won't be his boss.

Try to keep up from now on.

Sorry, I could say I was the president of Uganda on this blog and there would be no way to prove it.So Scott is resigning? Well, Praise the Lord! Can we send Buddy with him?I guess Caroline Avery will cry in her cornflakes bowl?We have lost Dr.Scott Smith say it aint so! We paid for his doctorate so I guess he bled us for about all he could.Who will be next?Lets all hope it will be Randall.

Anonymous said...

We paid for his doctorate? Are you sure? Remember,
"I could say I was the president of Uganda on this blog and there would be no way to prove it."

BCPS paid only paid about $175 when I was getting my degree. Classes were in the $600-700 range. Just so you know, this is available to all BCPS employees. I bet he paid for most of it. Why don't you go check the records, they should be public.

Anonymous said...

I will, and goodbye and good luck!

Anonymous said...

I am not holding my breath.

Anonymous said...

y'all are stupid.

all of you.

Anonymous said...

(1) Even if BCPS paid for Scott Smith's doctorate in its entirety (which they didn't), I can bet the district has far exceeded that amount in paying for free internet access (dial-up) for active and retired employees.

(2) Scott's technology vision for the future of BCPS is and was un-paralleled. BCPS has around 15,000 students and 2,400 employees needing access. He worked diligently to provide leadership and vision regarding the technical, and hardware and software issues in the entire school system - while still determining where to allocate budgeted funds in the most advantageous way.

Scott always strove to do what he could for the benefit of the students of Burke County. Having over 4,500 computers, 2,000 printers, 50 servers, 1,100 televisions, 800 VCR's, overhead projectors, cameras, palms, and other assorted equipment within the school system meant that there was always something that needed attention – and he dealt with those issues in a logical, efficient way.

(3) Not only has the integrity and feelings of the technology staff been hurt, but I'm sure morale is down, and the school district as a whole has become a laughingstock because of all the witch-hunting that’s gone on. Maybe the technology staff remaining aren’t worth keeping, and the recent hires should go back to where they came from. The goal all along has been to destroy their department, right? So, here we are on August 3. Who are the winners at BCPS in this situation at this point...the Board Members? The children who return to school in a few weeks? The Teachers and other Staff? Scott Smith? The Magnificent Grunts remaining?

Boo hoo! Give that he cared for the children shit to Oprah.Sure some in central office are worth keeping.Destroy the technology department you say?I dont believe that was the majority's wish. But life goes on and maybe just maybe we can hire someone with integrity to do right in the technology department. The Buddy Armour's and Caroline Avery's have an emotional attachment to Scott and that is okay.He is leaving so lets shift focus on making this department even better. If Buddy does not believe we can hire people just as qualified or better in open positions then he has no reason to continue to serve on the board. No he is not always for the children so leave that shit at home.

To August 3, 4:05 -

Choose the correct answer:

a. Feelings of Guilt?
b. Truth Hurts?
c. Going Mental?
d. A, B, and C - All the Above.

The correct answer is D. All the Above.

You do realize about half of the tech department has left in the last 3 months.

While I am sure the department will recover, we just lost a ton of good people and their knowledge. Finding new people and training them is a lot harder than keeping the good ones you got.

Plus, don't feed me the line about the people leaving weren't any good. All got better offers.

Anonymous said...

To August 3, 4:09 PM,

You say "some" in the CO are worth keeping. Who? Let's start evaluating every single person who works at the CO. Your choice. Which dept shall we start with first?

Who is Carolyn Avery?

My statement was that Scott always strove to do what he could FOR THE BENEFIT of the students of Burke County. I stand by that statement. And let me add one thing further: I don't know of a single person in education who works SOLELY FOR THE CHILDREN.

Anonymous said...

Why is the school district PAYING INTERNET ACCESS for employees, let alone RETIREES??? Just give them a free ham and $25.00 (or a gold watch) like most plants in the area do when employees retire!

And Aug 3, 4:09 PM - you wrote, "If Buddy does not believe WE CAN HIRE people just as qualified or better in open positions then he has no reason to continue to serve on the board."

Sounds like you serve on the board now....

BCPS started offering free dial up at least 10 years ago as a recruiting tool. It was free to everyone who has an bcps email account, which included school board and retirees.

The time for dial up has passed and I believe that the tech dept has tried to get rid of it. I don't know who said to keep it. I think the cost is about 3000 a month, it doesn't matter who uses it.

I agree, let's cut the dial up and get a dented can ham from Tim's store.

Is the cans dented from being trown against Buddy's skull? Look,we know Buddy frequents this blog because he does not have the balls to face other board members with what he writes about them.He ran from the special called meeting and most people will find out why very soon. This is not a threat but,if people needed to know about what Tracy had done concerning the map, then we must know what Buddy, and Sam has done as well.I am sure they are trying to find a humdinger of a story to tell about this as we speak. The public has a right to know what all board members have done past and present concerning the map and it is just a matter of time. Thanks Buddy for waisting our tax dollars and you know what I mean , dont you?

Just heard this weekend that Scott Smith is leaving the system. What a loss! This board should be ashamed of themselves. Technology is the key to success for this next generation. Just because some board folks don’t use technology daily in big ol’ Burke is no excuse for denying our children the chance. It will take years for the IT department to recapture the leadership and knowledge lost with all these departures. As I understand it, Mr. Smith is moving to a system who welcomed him with open arms – where, gasp, gasp, all students will have a new laptop. I think they’re they real winners here, and AGAIN, because of politics, our children will suffer.
Don’t care to hear a word about the county “buying” Smith’s doctorate – they may have reimbursed some tuition (which all staff have as a benefit), but they didn’t do the work, and his knowledge was passed down to the IT staff, as well as instructional staff. AND, if the crazy board had any sense, the ROI for the tuition would have more than paid for itself by not hiring outside consultants for problems. For you board members with limited education, ROI is return on investment – simply put what you get back when you invest. This is also a biblical principle – sow and reap. The difference here is this board is sowing ignorance, and our children will be the ones to reap.
I have children in the school system now. The ROI for them is having a board with no vision and limited education make personal vendetta choices that are knocking the foundation out of this system. How you sleep at night amazes me….oh, I know – the medication and booze help.
GEEZ! This is maddening.

That makes 12 folks from technology leaving in the past couple of months. Sad thing is that the board is probably celebrating.

Anonymous said...

"Probably celebrating"...YOU got that right !!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Ok Mr. Board member? Please explain why you would celebrate. Perhaps you can sway our opinion....come on, humor us.

Anonymous said...

And that is something we should be proud of?

Can you tell me the reasons they should be celebrating. We lost 12 people, I want a reason for each.

Come on back it up!

Anonymous said...

Cat got your tongue - Mr. Board member?

Celebrating why?????

Funny how you clam up when asked a specific question.

1 - Jennifer Shoaf?
2 - Rick Sherrill?
3 - Celebrating exodus of IT talent?

Anonymous said...

guess whom is NOT in office anymore?

that's right...YOU !!!

Anonymous said...

You are so off the mark and flatter yourself.

Actually, I'm in my office...same one I've had for over 4 years. I'm not an IT employee, wife/husband, or friend. I have however seen what that department does.

BTW, using whom doesn't make you smart -especially when you use it incorrectly. Please volunteer somewhere else and resign.

It is also quite sophomoric to try to defer attention to another subject to
AVOID ONCE AGAIN ANSWERING THE QUESTIONS PRESENTED.

Please answer the aforementioned questions.

"We lost 12 people, I want a reason for each."

MAYBE THEY DISLIKED THEIR JOB.

OBVIOUSLY, THEY WILL BE HAPPIER ELSEWHERE.

PERHAPS BETTER OPPORTUNITY FOR FUTURE ADVANCEMENT.

MORE MONEY.

BETTER HOURS.

BETTER BENEFITS.

COULD'VE HATED THEIR BOSS(ES) OR DIDN'T GET ALONG WITH CO-WORKERS.

THEIR LIFESTYLE HAD BECOME UNSUSTAINABLE.

THEIR REPUTATION HAD SOURED AT WORK.

FELT IGNORED/UNDERAPPREICATED.

PLANNING TO RELOCATE.

Has any one heard of a principal shake up still may happen for BCPS. Heard it might be this week!!!

Anonymous said...

Would love to know if there's going to be a principal switch

Anonymous said...

Just some FYI I know for a FACT that an elementary school received an email early this am from the principal saying they were leaving! SO thats atleast 2 that will be changed around. Also hear David is on vacation this week...do not know how much truth is in that!

Anonymous said...

Anyone know who took the EC position or the HR position? I thought it was supposed to be announced when contracts were signed? David said in the audio they could have both started in some fashion last week....don't you normally sign a contract before you begin working?

Anonymous said...

To my knowledge Mrs.Dehart at Mountain View and Mrs Hawkins at WA Young are swapping schools. Also,Jack Leonard at Walter Johnson and Todd Suddreth at Burke Middle College are swithing schools.David has planned to do this all along and for anyone to think this was a Board decision is totally wrong.David can switch Principals without asking the Board.Only when salary will be affected does the board have to vote. This was all Burleson and the board will point that out if need be.If they done the switching it would be wholesale of many schools. The timing by David is piss poor and he needs his arse kicked for this.

Anonymous said...

Burleson has footdragged on many things to make the board look bad.How much longer will they tolerate his insubordination? He has had the oppurtunity to announce to the public who the Ec director is as well as the HR director. Why is Burleson waiting ask him.If he tells you it was the board call them all 7 and see the answers you get.I bet Davids will not add up.

Anonymous said...

David is on vacation, but the principal swaps were all him.He knew what he was doing.I support David for knowing when to switch Principals although I may not always agree.

Anonymous said...

Who is going to Icard? Heard that Hildebran and Hallyburton may get new principals?

Anonymous said...

Don't you think he has waited a little too long for a switch?

Anonymous said...

"Can you tell me the reasons they should be celebrating."

sure. got rid of a bunch of deadweight.

Anonymous said...

YOUR MULTIPLE PERSONALITIES ARE SHOWING AGAIN ;-)

hee, hee, hee, HA HA HA !!!!!!!

by the way, dumbass, you are the one that posed the original statement...@ 6:50 AM

"That makes 12 folks from technology leaving in the past couple of months. Sad thing is that the board is probably celebrating"

Anonymous said...

Deadweight? Explain, IT staff is usually pretty important.

Anonymous said...

usually.

Anonymous said...

The board has been against technology and Scott. Scott resigns, the board is happy maybe even "celebrating".

I want to know why. All I hear from the board supporters is how so and so needs to be fired. But you can never give a good reason. Instead you step around the question, pretended to know who made each post, and call people names.

The conclusion I am drawing is that you don't know. You don't have any knowledge what the tech staff does, what any admin does. You hear Buff or Norman or Hairfield say this person needs to be fired and you just repeat it.

I am asking you to prove me wrong, back up some claims.

Anonymous said...

IT people are not important to this new board. They have so many people who do not work, I think we should just let THEM do the work and save the salaries.

We'll see who the real dead weight is.

Anonymous said...

HOW MANY BOARD MEMBERS HAVE FULL TIME JOBS?
Could it be that Buddy maybe, just maybe had to work the day of the "special called meeting"?

The lush that lives up at Lake James once was in charge of a large company. What happened to that job? Also, why did he leave teaching?

Where has Mr. Hairfield worked in the past? Why is he not a parole officer anymore? Could it be he forged a judge's signature.
Please answer my questions.

Anonymous said...

usually: (adverb) Most of the time.

Are you telling me BCPS tech dept wasn't important?

Do we just not need technology staff?

Anonymous said...

I think free email for the skool bored is a waist of money. Let them pay for their own service.

I also think the skool bored makes too much money. When Hairfield was on the outside looking in, he felt the same way. Now that he is the Grand Poobah, he must just take the money and run. Must be a power thang...

Anonymous said...

No, they said Armour was out of town that day. I guess people should just drop everything when Buff calls a meeting that's not scheduled.

I know I would. Not! In the words of STYX, some board members have "...too much time on their hands".

Anonymous said...

GOOD GOSH, HERE WE GO AGAIN...

"I think free email for the skool bored is a waist of money"

WAIST OF MONEY ?? WAIST !

AND YOU WANT (THAT'S W-A-N-T, NOT WON'T)TO SLAM OTHERS FOR INCORRECT LANGUAGE ? WHEW...

ALSO, DO YOU NOT YOU GET TIRED OF POSTING ALL THIS STUFF (NEARLY 90% OF IT)FOR YOUR OWN AMUSEMENT ?

SLAMMING ONE OF YOUR FORMERS & NOW ONE OF THE NEW...GEEZ, YOU ARE FUNNY.

Buff doesn't even know where the power button is on a computer. He couldn't turn one on if it fell from the sky and the power button landed on his nose.

This board has no idea about technology and the cost associated. Here is a question someone should ask the board " What is Moore's law?" I bet they couldn't answer that one.

It is very evident from the audio that half of the board cannot even check their e-mail on a regular basis. I hear all the time Burleson say "I e-mailed that to you last week", and the normal response is "can we get a copy of that made for everyone on the board?" I bet they go through more trees in one meeting than most classrooms use in a month.

And then there is Tracy. I heard her say "and less than 1 day after moving, my address was 'on the internet'." Um, welcome to the twentieth century miss normal. Everyone's address is 'on the internet'. This was after her famous SEEK AND Tiered (I can't spell her accent) speech.

How anyone can rejoice from all of your IT department leaving is beyond me. We should all go and ask for their e-mails for the last month. That would be FUNNY!!!

Anonymous said...

Buddy may have been out of town but he could have informed the board of such on July 21.He did not.He will be at the August 18 board meeting and hopefully we will unveil some things to all the public about the stuff going on concerning the District Map.
The board needs to fast track
hiring some IT people to replace the ones who left. The board needs to hire an attorney fast.Keep in mind that the former chairman had used Mr Aycock in his legal battles and it did not bother Mr.Armour that this could have been a conflict of interest! He is going to try to play tricks with the hiring of the new attorney but to no avail.Bases are covered. The public wants Mr.Brackett to resign as soon as possible. With Mr.Sherrill taking over it will be a matter of time.He is the number 2 man.Wo what will Randall's hinchmen do?Poppy is on his way out.He is powerless!

"The board needs to fast track

Oh, yeah. IT people grow on trees these days - especially the ones who know something about educational applications. I still say we have board members who need a job. Hire them!

Well, I'm anxious to see which attorney in town HASN'T represented one of THESE new board members.

Oh, and the people are glad this board has its bases covered. Must have had one of those extra- curricular board meetings no one knew about.

"Buff doesn't even know where the power button is on a computer. He couldn't turn one on if it fell from the sky and the power button landed on his nose."

It's funny. As much as Buff hated the IT department, I heard he had the gall to ask BCPS for a computer after he fried his own.

Not surprised.

Anonymous said...

I hadn't heard that. Can anyone else confirm this?

Maybe they were deadweight. Randy Sain has complained about the IT people at Icard and EBM. I can't remember the names.

1 - why hire Shoaf who was suspended from coaching after making it to state?
2 - Why celebrate the mas exodus of IT staff
3 - why all the accolades for Sherrill who is a know fornicator

Anonymous said...

1 - why hire Shoaf who was suspended from coaching after making it to state?

THAT'S A GOOD QUESTION. A REALLY GOOD QUESTION. WE CAN'T ANSWER.

2 - Why celebrate the mas exodus of IT staff?

BECAUSE THEY HAD TOO MUCH FREE TIME ON THEIR HANDS.

3 - why all the accolades for Sherrill who is a know fornicator?

YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH A LITTLE "BUMP-N-GRIND" ?

Your GED is shining again

"3 - why all the accolades for Sherrill who is a known fornicator?

Only if the grind-EE is not your spouse. Is this type of behavior required in order to be a part of your club? Having such relations with your employees, I mean.

Anonymous said...

just keep those accolades coming...and do you think for one second the people would allow a known fornicator to acheive such a lofty position?

Anonymous said...

The PEOPLE didn't hire RS. Six board members did. This new board, who thinks they are the moral police (notice how dead The Kite Runner issue is now) successfully snowed 5,000 at the polls.

I, too, am glad my kids are out of this school system. BCPS is so infamous now across the state that they nor I speak of this county. Doing so brings too many "Bless-your-hearts" from out-of-county sympathizers.

But we allowed this, and it's up to us to fix it.

Anonymous said...

"US" ??

you are not an 'us'.....

Anonymous said...

August 10th 1:30pm (AKA Buddy Armour),

Boy, you are right. We sure don't want anyone concerned about morals when we're talking about educating students in K-12.

I can't wait to vote for you again next year, Buddy. I sure hope you decide to run again. Let's get back to our rubber stamping "whatever you want because you're the professionals and we're the dummies who lucked up and won an election" board.
