Burke's Board of Education voted to exonerate a coach of any wrongdoing in the matter, citing in part a local law enforcement investigation.
Sheriff John T. McDevitt says his office has not investigated.
East Burke High School students made the video on Nov. 29 in hopes of catching someone taking money from student clothing, says Superintendent of Burke County Public Schools David Burleson.
Burleson and East Burke Principal Rexanna Lowman say a hidden video camera captured head basketball coach Billy Anderson on tape, alone, patting down student clothes. Burleson says the tape was turned over to a school resource officer employed by the sheriff's office. He also says the sheriff's office was requested to conduct an investigation to determine whether a crime was committed.
"The Burke County Sheriff's Department kept the videotape for several weeks, and to my knowledge conducted what it deemed to be an appropriate investigation," Burleson wrote in an e-mail.
He says the sheriff's office reported back to Burke schools that no evidence of a crime had been found.
McDevitt says no deputies in his office have watched the video. "We've had no report from any victim regarding any larceny of money associated with a video at East Burke's locker room," he says.
McDevitt says that without a report, his office has no reason to investigate an incident.

Please - MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS - start petitions at your schools to keep Mr. Burleson and let's have a petition from all 5 middle schools and 4 high schools - what an impression that would make coming from our students. By the way students, Mr. Barnard loudly and boldly stated tonight in the presence of many, that the education in Burke County sucks!!! Please show Mr. Barnard that Burke County students are not as stupid as he believes. Organize at your school - get your petitions together and bring to the next meeting.

Sherrill wants a dress code because he has no earthly idea how to improve anything. He’s way past his prime and ineffective at his past jobs. Look up the data in Pamlico – his initiatives didn’t work. They didn’t want to keep him.
Tracy Norman isn’t qualified to check out groceries, let alone make decisions regarding my children. I know a little about her and the boys. She would not make them go to school when they were small, and blamed everyone but herself for their educational failures. She stirred the pot continuously – folks were afraid to even speak if she was in the building because she contorted events. Her pal in crime, Rob, is still up to no good, even recently hovering outside closed door budget sessions at West Concord.
They can’t be trusted. What a mess.
Barnard should be ashamed. The system does not suck – one of my children is 4, yes that’s right 4 grade levels ahead in ELA and Math. I’ll take credit for the genetics, but the system gets the credit for success.

If you saw the front page of the newshearld today the man is asking Mr. Barnyard if the public gets to speak about Mr. Burleson. Mr. Barnyard yells no to him. Mr. Barnyard then says "there are more of us than you". There were people there saying that Mr. Barnyard cussed their kids at Tablerock when he was there.
Then Mr. Barnyard told someone that the education in burke county "sucks".
Then the candy ass Barnyard left the meeting after the picture you see. This was before the dress code portion of the meeting even began. He wasn't even at the 5:15 meeting in which there were several hundred people in the media room. It was elbow to elbow.
Mr. Sherrill attempted to sell his powerpoint show. He couldn't even turn his microphone on. He lost his place several times. When someone asked a question he became hostile toward them on at least 3 occassions. This man could not carry David Burleson's jock strap.
He has never been able to stay over 2 to 3 years at any of his many stops.
Everyone come and enjoy the entertainment in 2 weeks.
His salary is set by the State. His mileage cost is set by the IRS. Anyone who works for a company and gets paid for using their car for errand receives the same rate per mile as David. I believe is is arount .22 - .27 cents per mile. Rick Sherrill will receive the same amount when the five vote him in.

David didn't have a choice, he was between a rock and a hard place 'cause his little Daddy worked there and you couldn't upset Daddy. That's where politics plays in the school system and no one should be allowed to work in the same school system that's related. This should not relect against David. Sometimes in life there isn't a choice.

To 11:34 a.m. This blog is absolutely making things worse!!! Most of the blogs are all about slinging mud back and forth. Do you know how many people and their families are being hurt and torn apart by this blog? I'm not talking about Tracy because I don't like Tracy, but I have definitely heard enough about her "camel toe." This blog is a disgrace to Burke County. The board is also a disgrace, but why do we feel the need to make it worse? That is being just as bad as they are!!
Many comments posted to this blog are in support of David Burleson. I would like to add yet another and tell you that this man is awesome. Never before or never again will Burke County have a man of his quality leading our school system, not to mention the admiration he has for everyone he has ever known. As young people have posted on this blog that he was their principal or teacher years ago and yet he never forgets them. However, one thing has been left out and that is how this is affecting his family. Think what it would be like to be in high school/college, honor student's, and trying to do the very best possible to make your parents proud. Yet in the midst of all the mess that their father is going through they must worry about how this is affecting him. Not to mention worrying about your mother because she is worrying too how this is affecting her husband. The stress that this board has put on this family is unreal. A mother-in-laws that lives with them has to worry relentlessly about all of them. Why would anyone try, on purpose, to cause such a burden to a family that has done nothing to deserve this. I don't know anyone more caring, supportive, devoted to his family, is job, his church, his community and on and on... than David Burleson. Never again will anyone have the qualities and examples he has set forth in his work, his Christian walk, and not to mention a devout family man. How can anyone compare him to this Rick Sherrill? He doesn't hold a candle to David! For one, he's x-military and this will never work in a school system......a man of his expectations cannot give this school nor the students what they deserve. Understanding, patience, respect, friendship, and a desire to help in any way possible even its extending a warm heart when a love one dies. You could never pull these qualities out of a military bred individual. Take David Burleson out of this school system and it will only be a matter of time before you see the difference he made here. Don't take the chance and lose this man to another school system and let them reap the rewards. Remember, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. When you've got proven stability in a school this large, it didn't happen by chance. Took a lot of hard work and that's what he is about. David, don't loose sight of the tremendous amount of people in this county that are behind you, don't be quick to walk away, stand firm and the Lord will intervene as he promises he will. This is very transparent. The board doesn’t like David – they want Rick – pullupyourpants – Sherrill.
Sherrill wants a dress code because he has no earthly idea how to improve anything. He’s way past his prime and ineffective at his past jobs. Look up the data in Pamlico – his initiatives didn’t work. They didn’t want to keep him.
Tracy Norman isn’t qualified to check out groceries, let alone make decisions regarding my children. I know a little about her and the boys. She would not make them go to school when they were small, and blamed everyone but herself for their educational failures. She stirred the pot continuously – folks were afraid to even speak if she was in the building because she contorted events. Her pal in crime, Rob, is still up to no good, even recently hovering outside closed door budget sessions at West Concord.
They can’t be trusted. What a mess.
Barnard should be ashamed. The system does not suck – one of my children is 4, yes that’s right 4 grade levels ahead in ELA and Math. I’ll take credit for the genetics, but the system gets the credit for success.

If you saw the front page of the newshearld today the man is asking Mr. Barnyard if the public gets to speak about Mr. Burleson. Mr. Barnyard yells no to him. Mr. Barnyard then says "there are more of us than you".
There were people there saying that Mr. Barnyard cussed their kids at Tablerock when he was there.
Then Mr. Barnyard told someone that the education in burke county "sucks".
Then the candy ass Barnyard left the meeting after the picture you see. This was before the dress code portion of the meeting even began. He wasn't even at the 5:15 meeting in which there were several hundred people in the media room. It was elbow to elbow.
Mr. Sherrill attempted to sell his powerpoint show. He couldn't even turn his microphone on. He lost his place several times. When someone asked a question he became hostile toward them on at least 3 occassions. This man could not carry David Burleson's jock strap.
He has never been able to stay over 2 to 3 years at any of his many stops.
Everyone come and enjoy the entertainment in 2 weeks.
Someone ask Ms. Camel Toe what happened last Saturday to her.

Anyone who works for a company and gets paid for using their car for errand receives the same rate per mile as David. I believe is is arount .22 - .27 cents per mile.
Rick Sherrill will receive the same amount when the five vote him in.

David didn't have a choice, he was between a rock and a hard place 'cause his little Daddy worked there and you couldn't upset Daddy. That's where politics plays in the school system and no one should be allowed to work in the same school system that's related. This should not relect against David. Sometimes in life there isn't a choice.

That could be very dangerous, and as a Christian, I read the Bible quite a bit and I wanted to share a couple of verses with you. Matthew 7:1 and 2 says "Judge not that ye be not judged. For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again." If I were you, I would read the rest of the chapter. It's a great one. I used to love this county. Look at us now. May God forgive us all!!!!!

To 11:34 a.m. This blog is absolutely making things worse!!! Most of the blogs are all about slinging mud back and forth. Do you know how many people and their families are being hurt and torn apart by this blog? I'm not talking about Tracy because I don't like Tracy, but I have definitely heard enough about her "camel toe." This blog is a disgrace to Burke County. The board is also a disgrace, but why do we feel the need to make it worse? That is being just as bad as they are!!

Many comments posted to this blog are in support of David Burleson. I would like to add yet another and tell you that this man is awesome. Never before or never again will Burke County have a man of his quality leading our school system, not to mention the admiration he has for everyone he has ever known. As young people have posted on this blog that he was their principal or teacher years ago and yet he never forgets them.
However, one thing has been left out and that is how this is affecting his family. Think what it would be like to be in high school/college, honor student's, and trying to do the very best possible to make your parents proud. Yet in the midst of all the mess that their father is going through they must worry about how this is affecting him. Not to mention worrying about your mother because she is worrying too how this is affecting her husband. The stress that this board has put on this family is unreal. A mother-in-laws that lives with them has to worry relentlessly about all of them. Why would anyone try, on purpose, to cause such a burden to a family that has done nothing to deserve this. I don't know anyone more caring, supportive, devoted to his family, is job, his church, his community and on and on... than David Burleson. Never again will anyone have the qualities and examples he has set forth in his work, his Christian walk, and not to mention a devout family man. How can anyone compare him to this Rick Sherrill? He doesn't hold a candle to David! For one, he's x-military and this will never work in a school system......a man of his expectations cannot give this school nor the students what they deserve. Understanding, patience, respect, friendship, and a desire to help in any way possible even its extending a warm heart when a love one dies. You could never pull these qualities out of a military bred individual. Take David Burleson out of this school system and it will only be a matter of time before you see the difference he made here. Don't take the chance and lose this man to another school system and let them reap the rewards. Remember, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. When you've got proven stability in a school this large, it didn't happen by chance. Took a lot of hard work and that's what he is about. David, don't loose sight of the tremendous amount of people in this county that are behind you, don't be quick to walk away, stand firm and the Lord will intervene as he promises he will. One day at a time and keep the faith.

The school board has made it to where our students are a reflection of them not the parents. So, needless to say if they think our students are stupid I hope they are willing to say it in front of a mirror.
