Billy Anderson got employed in our system and did not go through the proper procedure for criminal background checks or we would have known of his DWI.
Billy Anderson's father...Andy Anderson, then associate superintendent of the school system.
Billy Anderson's father-in-law...none other than Steve Demiter, then personnel director of Burke County Public Schools.

So instead of actually defending with something new, we are still reading bs in response to the actions of the current Fraud Five. Anytime there is something said against them, we hear either something about Billy Anderson, or crap about Buddy,Sam or previous board members. Buddy is not the subject of the Counties outrage, Billy Anderson is not either. The Fraud 5 are!!! They have ignored the public, they have lied, cheated and from the looks of it pulled off a lot of things that should be illeagal. COME ON TRACY...ROB... or which ever of you is blogging... resign, dont resign... but stop the BS
In a recent blog someone asked just what Mr. Burleson had done since becoming a superintendent – here are SOME of the initiatives to support student success developed under the leadership of Superintendent David Burleson:
1. Mobile Pre-K program: BUST'R, BETSIE and BEEBEE
2. Andrea's Art bus
3. Burke Middle College - collaboration with WPCC
4. Burke Alternatives to Suspension (BATS) program - collaboration with community businesses to provide school-day alternatives to students on out-of-suspension
5. College Street Academy and East ALPS: diploma and alternative school programs
6. Greenhouse and Culinary Arts Programs for alternative school programs
7. Day Treatment programs (elementary, middle and high) - targeting students who would otherwise be place on homebound services
8. School-based Mental Health Services: private mental health therapists site-based in 16 schools to allow students/families to access counseling services in the school community.
9. School Nurse Program
10. Grant Writer - resulting in millions of dollars coming to Burke County Public Schools
11. ASSIST - Crisis Response Teams to respond to death and critical incidents involving the school students, staff, faculty and families when a loss has occurred.
12, School Attendance Office (BCPS had a ½ time position when the superintendent was hired) – Judges in Schools and Dropout Prevention Grants have expanded the efforts to keep students in school and begin intervention before students accumulate unexcused absences.
13. Student Advisory Council – collaboration with students
14. Safe Schools Task Force – collaboration with law enforcement and national experts in the field
15. ELL office – In addition to education instruction, there is a focus on communication with non-English speaking parents – to help understand school policies and be active participants in their children’s education
16. Leadership Burke – collaboration with Chamber of Commence
17. GEAR-UP in middle and high schools – collaboration with ASU
18. Freshman Academy
19. June technology workshops for BCPS employees
20. 3 new elementary schools: Hallyburton, W.A.Young and Ray Childers
21. 1 new middle school: Walter Johnson Middle
22. 2 new high schools: Patton and Draughn
23. Glen Alpine Elementary has an on-site 5-star infant/toddler childcare center for the children of school staff.

Mr. Burleson has done a lot of great things since becoming a superintendent – and really, it was not his fault in the handling of the Billy Anderson case.
Look what he was up against. Friends/Family placed in positions & previous board members he didn't dare go against. He couldn't take action against Andy's son, or Steve's son-in-law nor the East Burke principal. & the sitting board members would not let him.
Yeah, that incident was/is a black-eye on David, but, really, he wasn't able to do a dang thing about it.

As a Christian, I believe a great injustice and a very very grevious wrong is being done to five members of the Burke County NC School Board.
As a Chrsitian, you should also believe a very grevious wrong has been done to Mr. Burleson. If you will remember, Jesus threw the money changers out of the temple.

Local Board of Elections answer to the State Board of Elections, which are appointed by Miss Perdue. Perdue is the one person with absolute power. If enough constituents voice concerns she will at least take a good look into the situation, which I doubt she has done at this point. Anyone with a slight bit of intelligence will, after looking into the situation and seeing what has happened to this school system, will be appalled and try to do something. The thing is, she can do something.
She is a woman like Tracey also. I hope she is not as stupid. Thats what happens when men are not holding these leader posistions. Sorry ladies but read your Bibles.
No matter what is said on this blog, the Billy Anderson saga is the real reason the Fab 5 want Mr. Burleson out. He was between a rock and a hard place trying to handle this. Andy Anderson and Steve Demiter there to hear and see every thing going on at the meetings to investigage it. If they had not worked in the school system Mr. Burleson could have handled it better. Now they are gone and Mr. Burleson has to take the heat. They should be ashamed. They may have cost a good man his job.

At Monday's meeting someone who can speak Spanish should sign in to speak about something that is on the agenda.
When they get to the microphone they should say in English what their topic is.
Then they should start speaking in Spanish and unload everything they have ever wanted to say to these fools for 2 minutes. Then at the end of the 2 minutes say Thank You in English.
