At least she has a bachelor's degree, better than a grocery store manage and his cashier.
About her: Before last fall's East Burke locker room incident, Sain had never been to a school board meeting, she said. But that changed after what she describes as the school system's mishandling of the situation, which affected a young relative and, she said, deeply divided the surrounding community.
Great, you elected a school board member who for her entire life didn't care about the school system until a single incident. She is right, this incident did divide the community. Becuase tim buff and tracy norman wouldn't let it go.
Why are you running:"The future of the Burke County Public Schools is important to me." As a mother of four girls, two of whom are still in school, she said, she has a personal stake in that future -- and feels the majority of the current board has lost its focus on it.
So now the future of the schools is important, but it wasn't when your first two were in school. You sound like a puppet, did TB write that for you.
If elected, what - if anything - would you change about the Burke County Public Schools? Are there things you believe the school system can or should be doing differently?
She recommends supporting continued and improved vocational and technology programs, including testing to identify students that may not be able to go on to higher education after graduation. "Many of us know how difficult it is to find a plumber, heating and air technician, auto mechanic, all of whom make $40-plus per hour. Also, Burke County has a booming health care system with new cancer and wound care centers, all of which will need to be staffed by trained individuals who are now part of our public school system." She also supports equitable, across-the-board employee pay raises.
Yeah more testing, if you didn't just get involved with your kids education, you would know we already have those tests. Please explain why it is difficult to find a plumber, heating and air, and auto mechanic, I just look in the phone book. You really need to get involved and realize how many of those classes are offered at the high schools. As for the health care stuff, i prefer my care givers to have a degree and not just a diploma. Raises sound great, but i guess since you are new to caring about the schools you are new to politics too. The state house, seneate and gov set the budget and raises. But thanks for playing

Who accompanied Ms. B-S to the Board of Elections back in July and paid her filing fee? You guessed it - Daddy Tim. So she is just going to be another mouth for Buff.
It's easy to brain-WASH someone who is brain-DEAD. She could barely rub two thoughts together at the WPCC forum.
But her usefulness was in her father's Eastern Burke Republican connections. Buff needed her on the ticket to generate support for him in an area he had literally devasted with his Let's-Get-Andy-Anderson-By-Framing-Billy-Anderson ploy.
Plus I understand Karen B-S's nephew was one of the kids who allegedly had money stolen.
I like that "Karen B-S" thing. I figure B-S is what you'll mostly get out of her in the next 4 years.

Your probably a 50 year old man grow balls and type it out. And Daddy Tim is more of a man than you will ever be. So you dont sleep good at night since the new board has been elected?! Well that makes you and the other 3 people in Burke COunty not sleeping well because obviously the MAJORITY of the burke county voted for Tim Buff, Karen Sain, Rob Hairfield, and Bernard. So enjoy the next four years of restless nights because the people spoke and you are out numbered. And if you think it is okay for a teacher to steal money from students and get by with it than continue this lame website. And dont you think it is a little unfair to blame the problems of the drop out rate on the new board? They had been in office 2 weeks when that was published in the News Herald? Maybe blame should be put on the board members of the past four years? oh but then that would probably be you and your anonymous freind.. We would hate to put the blame on you.. heaven forbid.
Karen is not a graet speaker and I listened to the radio during the election and she blew it. But she has been overwhelmingly elected and is at least a classy lady. Her and this new board are tearing down strongholds and she deserves an A+ for that.

When will you realize that anything you post on this stupid website is only read by you and the small amount of other people in Burke County that are pitching a fit. Take a look at the results from the vote back in November when Karen was voted onto the board by such a large amount. So your stupid comments really dont make a difference. And I would appreciate you and your fellow buddies to quit tearing down my mother. Grow up. If you have an issue please feel free to go to a board meeting and openly share you opinion. If you really care and aren't just posing stuff for no reason go to a meeting and bash them.. or atleast be man/woman enough to sign your name.

Man, you have been talking to the wrong people. I saw the video with my own eyes in a class and the coach did NOT take anything. I hear Tim and Tracy made such a big deal out of it so that Andy Hodges could get the job.
Rumor has it billy was doing the same stuff in caldwell county.He was working for his uncle at west caldwell when he left. Makes you wonder? He is the head coach now in carteret count at east carteret high school.Do they know about sticky fingers or not? Maybe we should let them know.
